The Sweet Truth: Milton Hershey\’s Untold Story Unveiled in \’HERSHEY\’ Film

A grand new film will unveil the real tale behind America’s most famous chocolate bar, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts revealed on Tuesday, April 4.

\”HERSHEY,\” featuring Finn Wittrock from \”American Horror Story\” and Alexandra Daddario from \”The White Lotus,\” aims to depict the love, heartache, and resilience of Milton and Catherine Hershey. Their vision transformed countless lives—not only through confections but also through kindness and empathy.

Shooting will start in May 2025 throughout Pennsylvania, aiming for a national release scheduled for 2026 to align with America’s 250th anniversary.

Directed by Mark Waters (\”Mean Girls,\” \”Spiderwick Chronicles\”), this movie chronicles how Milton Hershey—a individual who faced numerous setbacks—overcame repeated failures to achieve success, establishing both an enormous chocolate enterprise and a pioneering society focused on aiding underprivileged children.

\”Milton attained significant prosperity, yet contrasting with numerous affluent individuals during his time, he distributed his wealth among the laborers and the community surrounding him,\” Waters stated.

The Heart Underneath the Wrapping

As Hershey’s chocolate bars became fixtures in America, their backstory stayed largely concealed—until recently. The show “HERSHEY” reveals one of Milton’s most significant achievements: the Milton Hershey School, an institution that still shapes destinies today.

\”We\’re delighted to back a movie that portrays the complete Hershey narrative—a tale of perseverance, foresight, and lasting influence that keeps inspiring people,\” stated Michele Buck, who serves as the President and CEO of The Hershey Company.

Pete Gurt, who serves as the President of the Milton Hershey School and is an alum too, stated that the film truly encapsulates the Hersheys\’ heritage.

Gurt mentioned that Milton and Catherine Hershey\’s most significant accomplishment wasn\’t their chocolate; instead, it was establishing a haven and educational institution for countless children who were in need.

Stellar Power with Genuine Firepower

Praised for their deep emotional resonance and widespread popularity, Wittrock and Daddario were specifically chosen for their parts.

\”The thriving essence of HERSHEY lies in the love story that drove both an empire and a revolution in social good,\” Waters stated.

The film is being produced by Sharon Paul, Mark Tilghman, Mary Aloe, Joshua Harris, and Will Hardy, with executive producers including Daniel Hank, Joseph Lanius, Flip & Susan Flippen, and Joanne Marlowe.
