Serena Williams Exec Produces TV Adaptation of \”Carrie Soto Is Back\”

The 2022 novel marks the most recent adaptation from Reid\’s works, following the \’Daisy Jones & The Six\’ television series on Prime Video.

it has been reported that the tennis professional will take on the role of executive producer for the forthcoming Netflix adaptation of
Taylor Jenkins Reid
\’s bestselling novel
Carrie Soto Is Back,
Which the streamer has acquired for growth.

The series will be developed in collaboration with Williams’ production company, Nine Two Six. It aims to adapt Reid’s 2022 book, centered around a former tennis pro making a comeback for their last competitive year. As per Deadline, aspects of Williams\’ personal journey will also inspire the show, set to be penned by writer Amanda Kate Shuman.

Williams, who is 43 years old, announced the news via an Instagram Story where she posted a screenshot from the Deadline article and also tagged her production company.

Carrie Soto Is Back
chronicles the journey of the famous tennis icon who decides to return from retirement and seek guidance from her father for one final season with hopes of regaining her championship status as a new rival threatens to claim the crown she once held.

Carrie’s “on-again, off-again relationship” with Bowe Huntley adds an extra layer of excitement as she returns to the court six years after her retirement.
