\’Reng De Basanti\’ received a National Award for being the Best Popular Film and was selected as India’s submission to the Oscars in the same year. This movie not only transformed Aamir Khan’s career permanently but also emerged as one of the most acclaimed and reflective narratives within Bollywood. The director, Mehra, illustrated that Indian youth did not require overtly nationalistic displays to express their love for country; instead, genuine liberty held deeper significance.
