Pilar’s Instagram story shared the Buffaloes’ announcement of the jersey retirement with the Price song playing during the story.
Shedeur Sanders, wearing No. 2, played two seasons in Colorado and won the 2024 Johnny Unitas Award as college football’s best quarterback.
Sanders emerged as the clear favorite for the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award and secured a spot on the first-team All-Big 12 roster according to every publication involved in selecting the team.
The Colorado Buffaloes website listed him with the following numbers for 2024: He completed 353 of 477 passes (74.0%) for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, with an NFL QB rating of 117.0 and a college passer rating of 165.9.
In two seasons at CU, he completed 651 of 907 (71.8%) passes for 7,364 yards with 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Hunter, sporting jersey number 12, had an outstanding performance over two seasons in Colorado.
During his two years at Colorado, the cornerback/wide receiver completed 153 catches for 1,979 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. Defensively, he managed to intercept seven passes and break up 16 others.
