What does a work from a Pulitzer Prize victor, a timeless festive favorite, two theatrical stage productions on Broadway, and an imaginary World War II musical share in common?

In 2025-26, which starts in September.
This season truly encapsulates how The Contemporary showcases our identity, staying faithful to our commitment of narrating tales pertinent to today’s world and our community,
artistic director Leda Hoffmann
said.
In the premiere episode titled \”Alice at Heart,\” two companions seek refuge during World War II within a London Underground subway station, finding solace by immersing themselves in the magical realm of their most beloved story, \”Alice in Wonderland.\”
\”I\’m thrilled about letting the audience witness the genuine brilliance of how The Contemporary excels in both narrative telling and stage production, particularly as it delves into the essence of growing up through these characters,\” stated Hoffmann, set to helm the musical.
\”Alice at Heart\” will be performed from September 4th through September 21st at Studio One in the Riffe Center, located at 77 South High Street.

Available Light Theatre
Directed by Eleni Papaleonardos, this comedy explores themes of friendship, identity, and change; running dates are from Oct. 30 to Nov. 16 at Studio Two. -
\”A Christmas Carol\” – This timeless tale will be performed as a solo show starring

In what Director Hoffmann considers a \”remarkable\” performance; December 11-21, at Studio Two. -
\”Jaja’s African Hair Braiding\” –
Shanelle Marie
Will be directed by Ohio State alumnus Jocelyn Bioh’s award-winning play that delves into themes of sisterhood, culture, and resilience; from March 5th to March 22nd, 2026, at Studio One.
\”Jaja\’s\” exemplifies The Contemporary\’s commitment to amplifying varied perspectives.
\”Professional theater has predominantly focused on narratives involving white characters for an extended period. Ensuring that the stories reflect Columbus and its current residents holds great significance,\” Hoffmann stated.
The concluding episode of the season, titled \”Primary Trust,\” pushes its main character to confront their greatest apprehension: transformation. Helmed by Hoffmann, this acclaimed work will be staged from April 23 to May 10, 2026, at Studio Two.
In the 2025-26 season, every seat will require reservation. Individuals can secure the minimum cost by purchasing a $225 Classic subscription, providing access to one entry per performance. Individual tickets will become available for purchase later this spring.
