Big B\’s Viral Birth: Missouri Cow Makes Headlines Again!

ASH GROVE, Mo. (KY3)—Back in February, we introduced you to Big B, the Ash Grove cow who went viral for being very pregnant.

Many of you have been reaching out asking if Big B has given birth. While she’s been milking every moment of fame, we can finally give you that update.

Big B is the most famous bovine in the state. Thousands of people online have been following her pregnancy journey, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her bundle of joy. People have been guessing just how many calves she would have. Well, we can finally tell you, it’s not 2, not 3.

\”I was quite surprised that just one showed up,\” stated Emily Anderson, owner of Big B.

Wait what?

“We waited for hours and hours, and I swore there was going to be two, but only one tiny baby calf came out,” said Emily.

When she says tiny, she means tiny. The new calf weighs about 45 pounds, which is half the size of the other calves born this year.

“This one is one of the smallest I’ve seen,” said Emily.

And Big B’s followers have a few questions.

“People are definitely confused, and shocked, and can not believe it,” said Emily.

Emily and her husband noticed the signs that Big B was going into labor around 7 a.m. on Tuesday. After only 30 minutes, they welcomed the new arrival.

“Honestly, she’s one of the best moms we have,” said Emily. “As soon as the baby came out she was licking it non-stop, getting the calf up, and has been on alert. She’s a very protective mom. I am sad that I can’t get too close, but we do want a protective mom.”

So while the internet is a little surprised that it is just one baby, we’re all very happy that both mom and calf are healthy.

“It’s just a spunky little thing!” said Emily.” As soon as the calf dropped, it was up on its knees in 15 seconds, trying to get up, bucking and running around.”

Now, if you’re wondering if the little calf is a girl or a boy, Emily released a blue balloon on social media for a classic gender reveal.
