Velvet Voices spoke exclusively with ex-NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen following their journey to the boundary of space.
For Aisha Bowe, who previously worked as a rocket scientist at NASA, being among the six women selected for Blue Origin\’s mission was significant.

Similar to Bowe, Nguyen was experiencing a wide range of feelings that had started well before the flight took off.
At one o\’clock in the morning, I suddenly found myself wide awake and incredibly anxious, even though I hadn’t felt nervous until that moment. My heartbeat raced as I rushed to review the experiments. There were three of them that I conducted,” she explains to Velvet Voque.
The two experiments conducted by the bioastronautics researcher took place inside the capsule, and since \”time is incredibly valuable up there,\” as Nguyen mentioned, she felt it necessary to \”get them right.\”
“And afterwards, I had to deliver a talk in Vietnam, and juggling all those additional responsibilities, I felt the need for a cheat sheet,” she explains, mentioning that she received an armband which allowed her to jot down all necessary information.
Even though completing her task was her main priority, she felt grateful once the flight ended.
