On the movie rating site Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 70 percent approval rating. Certain critiques commend Lawrence’s performance in the movie, with someone noting: “Lawrence delivers an impressive act in a comedic part which transforms this into quite a solid contemporary teenage film. It was enjoyable. I watched it on Netflix.”
