Disney\’s Latest Action Film Extends Struggling Box Office Run Following \’Snow White\’

A recently released action film is perpetuating a detrimental pattern at the box office.

In recent times, Disney along with its multiple subsidiaries (such as Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and Searchlight Pictures) has experienced significant fluctuations at the worldwide box office. For example, 2023 saw several substantial letdowns spanning from

The Marvels
(which has the smallest box office earnings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe)

It appeared that Disney bounced back in 2024 with several significant releases like

Although it was anticipated to launch lower than the immensely popular video game adaptation, it surprisingly opened at number three instead of two, ranking just after the record-smashing religious-themed animated success.

still nowhere close to its estimated break-even point

, which is probably close to $150 million. Since 20th Century Studios is now part of Disney, this contributes another box office letdown to Disney’s record following the significant underperformance of
Snow White
.
